You REALLY don’t want to be branded an a**hole on Quora. Especially because you can’t use aliases or have your brand name as your username. Things will blow up in your face because Quora going to be so important, and not just a Twitter plugin. Don’t quote us on that though. To avoid any trouble, we recommend this superb article written by Lucretia M Pruitt called Welcome to Quora. Do Yourself a Favor & Slow Down. … even if you don’t really care if you’re considered an a**hole on Quora, it’s a good insight into the culture in that community.

I found a bunch of nice remote controls for the Nikon DSLR cameras on eBay for around CAD $100 and up, but I found this great little piece of software that does exactly the same thing for free. “From the outset, Tundra Interactive provided strategic direction for the design, development and operability of our website. Tundra’s professionalism and ability to anticipate our needs allowed for the development of a highly effective website in a timely manner. The team at Tundra provided excellent project management and were never too busy to take a call from us. Tundra is by far the most comprehensive (web design/development) company we have worked with and have been instrumental in our success.”

- Justin Maxwell, Managing Director, ReCap Solutions

As an energetic B2B startup in the property investment market, ReCap Solutions posed an interesting design challenge for us. How does a company project a professional, established image at the startup phase of their business with limited time and content, while forming the foundation for a scaleable online business platform to grow seamlessly into? Our user-centred designers planned a long-term roadmap for the future development and requirements of ReCap’s online business and created a content management system that would be facilitate scaling to incorporate new features, content and interactivity.

Teldon Print Media is well known in Western Canada as a leader in high-quality commercial printing. Teldon had a website that they didn’t feel reflected their brand, but couldn’t quite identify exactly what needed to change. We worked with Teldon to centre their site’s experience design on well-developed, robust customer profiles. The result was a user-centred website design that would provide existing clients with relevant and engaging content while establishing value and driving to conversion of new customers for their print business. Our team worked with Teldon’s internal IT department to integrate the new site on their company’s existing content management system and communicate our vision for the interactive behaviour, navigation system and design elements.

The final product was presented by Nitobi as a groundbreaking example of what could be done using Adobe AIR at Adobe on AIR, an 11-city train tour including Stockholm, Berlin, Warsaw, Prague, Munich and Milan.

Building a data-driven online brand
Express Insurance, a UK Midlands based car and motorcycle insurance intermediary now owned by Kwik-Fit, wanted to focus their efforts on building their online business. With this goal, there were two huge challenges. First, compared to the UK’s online insurance giants, DirectLine and Zurich, Express Insurance had a long way to go in terms of brand recognition online. Positioning Express Insurance, a true “bricks-and-mortar” company as a new, energetic online brand required us to do complete rethink of the communications strategy, branding and marketing channels, as well as setting up a full suite of analytics to track the progress of new online campaigns using Google Analytics and Cognos MIS tools.

Second, the company’s website and online quote engine, based on third-party, proprietary software – was in sore need of improvement from a usability and user experience design standpoint. Our team worked with Express Insurance to rebuild and redesign the customer experience in the online quote engine and completely overhaul the persuasive design for the front-end site. Since the suite of changes were put in place, Express Insurance has established itself firmly as one of the United Kingdom’s largest online insurance intermediary for both car and motorcycle insurance.
